9-10-21 THOUGHTS

We will begin a study of the Gospel of John this Sunday.  Our first thoughts will rest on the PRE-EXISTENCE OF THE CHRIST!

John 1:14-18    And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15  John testified about Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’" 16  For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.   17  For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. 18  No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
Col 1:14-18      in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.  16  For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18  He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
John 14:9     Jesus  said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and [yet] you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how [can] you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
1John 5:20    And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
John 14:7    "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him."
John 8:58    Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am."
John 17:5   "Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
John 1:1    In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

My Prayer:
We thank you and praise you for your marvelous plan to save us through Christ Jesus.  We thank you for grace and truth that is in Christ Jesus. We are so blessed that Jesus came to this world and presented you to us.  May we see him and you so clearly that our every desire is to belong to you and serve you.   Nothing is more important than living with you eternally O God.  We praise your name for making that possible in Jesus.  Thank you for promise!
In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus          Amen
